By Matthew Field

Published in 2019 to mark the 50th anniversary of the British cult classic movie The Italian Job. Loaded with sixties swagger, and famed for its endlessly quotable dialogue and one of the most impressive car chases in movie history, The Italian Job is the ultimate celebration of ‘cool Britannia’.

Based on more than 50 in-depth interviews with the cast and crew, and lavishly illustrated with hundreds of never-before-seen photographs and production documents, this new book takes a fascinating, behind-the-scenes look at how the film made its way to our screens.

Foreword by Sir Michael Caine and an introduction by Oscar-winning producer Michael Deeley.

Presented in a special Collector's Edition jacket and slipcase and signed by a variety of personalities associated with the film: Michael Deeley, Robert Powell, David Salamone, Hazel Collinson, Don Black and, of course, Matthew Field

Iconic film, iconic book

The book does justice to a great British film, everything you wanted to know and more and a work of art in its own right.

I've loved this film since I first saw it over 40 years ago and this book is a wonderfully presented 'making of', written with love and honouring the legacy of the timeless classic. Having the opportunity to get a hold of such a book commemorating The Italian Job was like a dream come true and being able to purchase a signed copy was just icing on the cake. Thank you to Matthew Field for writing it and thank you to Porter Press for making it a reality. If you're a true fan of The Italian Job you need this book, you will not be disappointed.
