In the inaugural International Cup for F1 Manufacturers, Vanwall’s six victories from nine races secured the trophy for team owner, Tony Vandervell. In becoming Formula 1’s first World Champions, Vanwall achieved a level of Grand Prix domination no British team had managed before.
