Simon Kidston

Please visit the main event website for more information on the theatre itinerary.

Simon Kidston, the well-known historic car dealer, collector, writer, publisher and commentator, has had a fascinating career. Most recently he was in the news as the man who successfully bid for the Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR ‘Uhlenhaut Coupe’ that sold for $142m, the highest price ever paid for a motor car.

His uncle, Glen Kidston, was one of the original ‘Bentley Boys’. Simon grew up in Siena, in Italy and was educated in Switzerland, where he is now based. He began his career with Coys in 1988 and in 1996 co-founded and was President of Brooks Europe, later Bonhams Europe, leaving in 2006 to form Kidston SA in Geneva.

He has been a prime mover in many of the world’s leading concours events including Villa d’Este and the Cartier Travel With Style Concours in India. He is a most accomplished and amusing speaker. His book, Lamborghini Miura, was one of the fastest selling of all time and copies are now priced on the internet at over £5000 with the Jota edition at £9000.
