Motoring Literary & Art Festival

2-3 December 2023

Porter Press International has announced a new date for its inaugural Motoring Literary & Art Festival. Modelled on the famous literary festivals at Cheltenham and Hay, and believed to be the first such event of its kind, the ground-breaking fixture will take place on 2-3 December 2023 at Silverstone – the home of British motor racing.

Based within the superb Wing facility in the Grand Prix paddock, the two-day Festival will be devoted to motoring books, art, magazines and automobilia. There will be a variety of famous speakers from across the motoring world, plus a wide range of exhibitors and a selection of star cars.

‘After all the hard work we put in during the summer of 2022, the event has already generated considerable goodwill and support,’ said Philip Porter, founder of Porter Press International, ‘and we are thrilled that Silverstone actually approached us about offering it a home. We can think of nowhere better for our inaugural Festival, and we look forward to announcing our line-up of guest speakers and exhibitors over the next few months. Watch this space!’

Complementing the literary aspects of the event will be an amazing selection of motoring art, with leading artists displaying and selling their work, together with vendors of prints and evocative period photographs.

Philip Porter said: ‘This is an idea I had in principle about three years ago but the pandemic put everything on hold. Now we are raring to go and I hope this will build and build as a significant annual event on the motoring calendar. We are aiming to have content to appeal to a wide spread of motoring enthusiasts.

'We are very humbled that all sorts of personalities and organisations are actually approaching us, wishing to be involved and work with us. Silverstone is the perfect venue in so many ways. Motor Sport magazine is on board as a Media Partner. Peter Stevens has confirmed he will be with us, as has five-time GP winner John Watson.'
