Automobile - July 2024

'The book’s design and layout are refreshing, and are among the best this publisher has produced. The story is well-told and informative, and Page does a particularly good job of untangling the thorny issue of chassis numbers which can often leave non-devotees utterly confused. All in all, this is an excellent example of a single-car biography and is well worth the reasonable cover price.'

Classic & Sports Car - July 2024

'The book features a wealth of great images, from a  cool Giannino surveying his unpainted car in the Carrozzeria Fontana workshop to its post-restoration debut on the 1000 Miglia in 1986. As well as its Italian outings, including three Mille Miglia sorties, rare discoveries include a startline shot from a wet 1952 Avusrennen. Later, the exotic Uovo created plenty of interest during its four races in America with rich young publisher Ignacio Lozano, before it ended up unloved on a Los Angeles car lot facing the Warner Brothers Studios, where movie stars James Dean was photographed checking it out. If you’re interested in oddball Ferraris, you’ll relish this title.'

Octane - September 2024

'Page’s superb new book about the car, which tells the story of how it was conceived by young racer Giovanni Marzotto (who had won the Mille Miglia, aged 22) and designer/engineer Franco Reggiani, was raced in Italy, and then went to the USA, where it ended up languishing semi-derelict before being gradually restored from the 1980s onwards.

Marzotto himself seems to have been a thoroughly good uovo  - although the car was originally called the Jet Coupe - and Page begins by filling out his family background with the help of some fabulously evocative photos. This high bar is maintained throughout the book and it results in an engrossing read that’s far more than just another car history.'
