Here are some I made earlier....
Lovely to hear from Neil Murray, a recent purchaser of the C-Type Autobiography. In his own words, Neil is an ‘Aston Martin’ man, through and through, so his interest in this classic Jaguar might seem a little surprising.
“…way back in the early 1950s, I was in the R.A.F. and to while away boring 'down-time', I made small scale models, three of which you can see, a little battered by time, posed on your lovely book. One is of 051! That it had a 'new-fangled' bag tank and disc brakes, a common feature on aircraft of that time, intrigued me”.
For the technically-minded, Neil confirms that these brilliant models were scratch-built from the finest of advanced components - boxwood, card, milk bottle-tops, fuse wire and cotton.
We have taken quite a fancy to these at Porter Press HQ, but sadly Neil informs us that he does not take commissions…..
