Graham's Ultimate 956
Apart from selling and promoting our books, one of the main reasons we attend motorsport events such as Goodwood’s Revival and Members’ meetings is to interact with you, our loyal customers. It is so rewarding to hear your passion and enthusiasm for classic motorsport first-hand. And so it was again at the recent Silverstone Classic, where Graham Emery stopped by for a chat with Philp Porter. Incidentally, our stand at The Classic was positioned right in the heart of a fantastic Group C exhibition that included a total of 11 Porsche 956 and 962 models – sure-fire conversation starters, every one of them.
After taking a thorough look at our brand-new, triple-volume Ultimate Works Porsche 962, Graham also spotted the equally new Collector’s Edition of the 956 companion title.
Above: Our newest title, Ultimate Works Porsche 962, ready for eager customers to page through its more than 1400 pages. To the right is a prototype of the Alcantara-bound Owner’s Edition of 962 complete with authentic Group C Porsche titanium connecting rod in the slipcase cap. Also in shot (back row, middle) and now available for pre-order is the Collector’s Edition of the previously released Works Porsche 956.
[Not releasing a special edition of Ultimate Works Porsche 956 at its launch in 2020 was an omission we have long been keen to correct. Now, along with Collector’s and Owner’s editions of Porsche 962, a 956 Collector’s – leather-bound and limited to just 25 copies – is finally available. One caveat: they’re all hand-crafted to order, and author Serge is still touring the world collecting signatures – the count is eight and climbing!]
Eight drivers have already signed, a further six will be added shortly – all significant figures connected with the Porsche Group C project.
Graham began by telling Philip that he had bought a copy of the Ultimate Works Porsche 956 soon after it was published (2020), but that he was sorry there was not a signed special edition available at the time. Undaunted, he made his own by adding autographed Bilstein cards of Works drivers to each of the volumes. For Volume 1 he chose car #1 and its drivers Jacky Ickx and Jochen Mass; and for Volume 2, he opted for car #2’s driver pairing of Stefan Bellof and Derek Bell.
In Graham’s own words: ‘I think they make the books even more desirable.’ He is not wrong.
In a subsequent email to Philip, Graham confirmed that he has indeed ordered a copy of the Collector’s Edition of Works Porsche 962 and has his fingers crossed that Serge will be able to add the signatures of Jacky Ickx, Norbert Singer and Peter Falk to an already amazing list that includes Bell, Mass, Ludwig, Dalmas, Watson, Kussmaul and more.
Graham signed off his email by saying, ‘I think this signed 962 book is your best ever!’
Thank you Graham. We are certainly very proud of it.
