Camel Trophy Experience

I am writing to regarding the book Camel Trophy – The Definitive History (Collector's Edition) which I recently purchased. It is an exceptional book, which is part of my story. In fact, as a journalist I participated in the Camel Trophy Australia in 1986, but also in the Italian national selections for 1985 and 1989 which were held in Kenya and Cameroon respectively.

I have also been to Eastnor Castle in England three or four times, where the Land Rover instructors taught us hard off-road driving. Looking through your book, I found a photo of me driving a Range Rover in Eastnor Castle in 1987. I recognized the photo from the licence plate of the car. Compare the licence plate with another photo of me driving the Range Rover in weekly Autosprint magazine of February 24 – March 2, 1987.

I am writing this because I am very happy to be part of your precious book, which covers the history of the Camel Trophy. For more than ten years, not only as a journalist, the Camel Trophy was part of my life.

Since then my only car has been a Land Rover Defender 90. I have had three, the latest of which has been with us for 10 years, and will never leave my family again as my oldest daughter (I have two) told me that one day the Land Rover will be hers.

Hi , I message you regarding the camel trophy Range Rovers.
I noticed that the registration numbers appear to be a batch of numbers beginning with C suffix and ending in WWK.
I have have owned a brown petrol V8 four door Range Rover since 1989 with its registration number being C818 WWK.
I wonder if this vehicle has any connection with either the Camel Trophy or any other connection relating to Land Rover in some way as both front and rear number plates have Land Rover UK printed along the lower edge of the number plate.
It would be interesting to know what if any previous factory connection this vehicle may have.
Please contact me if you are able to provide any further information about this vehicle.
Thanking you in advance.
Kind regards.
Stuart Lee.
